Plot Structure
INITIAL INCIDENT: 1.) Leiningen decides to stay and fight the ants.
RISING ACTION: 2.)The ants are spotted. 3.)The Ants flank the sides of the plantation. 3.)The ants begin throwing them selves into the moat to act as a bridge for the ants behind them. 4.)The ants reach the inner bank and swarm a Peon. The dam is raised increasing the current which destroys the bridge. 5.)The ants begin to use leaves and twigs as rafts on the water. 6.)Leiningen sees the stag as it is overcome with ants. 7.)The rafts the ants were using collect and begin to form a crossing at the bend. 8.)The dam is raised and lowered continously in order to break the new bridge. 8.)The dam mechanisms jam causing the water flow to stop. The ants get across and the dam is abandoned. 9.)The defenders retreat to behind the inner moat. 10.)The ants begin building another bridge over the petrol moat. Leiningen lights the petrol on fire, preventing a crossing. 11.)The petrol reserves begin to decrease, and Leningen is faced with a dilemna. 12.)Leiningen decides that his only chance to save himself and his workers is to raise the dam and flood the plantation. He must do this himself. 13.)Leningen gets suited up in thick clothing stuffed with petrol rags. He begins running towards dam ignoring every thing else. 14.)Leiningen makes it to the dam. He turns the wheel raising the dam, but is covered in ants. 15.) Leiningen runs back, without paying attention to all the ants on and in his clothes. CLIMAX: 16.)Leiningen trips on a rock and begins to see a flash back of his life. He sees the stag, and decides that he won't come to the same demise. FALLING ACTION: 17.)Leiningen dives through the flames landing in the saftey of the other side. He loses conciousness. 18.)The Peons rush to Leiningens side to help. 18.)The last few ants who try to make it to the settlement are driven back with petrol. 19.)The Peons bandage up Leiningen's wounds, and administer medicine. DENOUMENT: 20Leiningen sleeps.
